Waiting

Waiting......

Who could have ever thought that waiting would be one of the most difficult things a person could endure? One of the things in this society that we don't practice very often. Everything is handed to us in a "less-than-five-minute" time scale and if it isn't we go somewhere else that will guarantee that kind of service or we complain to the manager, hoping that our input will make a difference. We pat ourselves on the back because we feel we have somehow bettered society!

I have been very very guilty of this very mentality as of late. "I want things and I want them now. It doesn't matter how much it cost, I want it now! I search the best methods of getting what I want in the time and fashion that I want them in and then I go after it." In todays society that is viewed as a good thing, "a person with tenacity, a bit of aggression and a 'go-get'r' attitude never hurt anyone." But when it comes to the promises of God, they sometimes take a while, which takes patience and a whole lot of................. you guessed it......... waiting! So the next time that we get in a rush about something in the natural and we get frustrated because it isn't out in our "less-than-five-minute" standard............ stop for just a moment...... and reflect....... This very moment is my response to the lessons God is teaching me in the spirit. This is something that God is using to shape us and mold us into more of His image. You know a funny thing...... we ask and ask and ask God to make us more like Him........... to shape us and mold us into more of His image........... and yet we complain and bicker and become angry and resentful when situations arise that don't suit our expectation of how we thought God was going to do that, when He is only giving us what we asked for in the first place!
